Telesis is a course and community management system developed by Washington University in St. Louis. It is available for use by instructors in any WU course and for management of other kinds of communities.
Telesis is web-based and can be accessed in any location with a network-connected computer and a standard web browser such as Internet Explorer or Netscape. It is integrated with the course registration and student information systems to provide automatic updating of student course rosters based on enrollment.
Students can access basic information about all of their courses on Telesis including a course description, calendar of meeting times and information about library resources and contacts. Instructors can choose to provide additional customized course content via Telesis.
To use telesis, go to the log-in page. Enter your WUSTL KEY ID and password to log in. You'll see a list of your current semester courses. To work with a course or view its content, click on the title.
IMPORTANT NOTE FOR FACULTY: when you are ready to display the contents of your course to enrolled students, you need to make it visible using Faculty Tools/Course Options in the Telesis menu. Check the option Activate Custom Content and click the button Save Changes.
If you don't see a course you expect at My Home in Telesis, faculty should check with their departmental administrator to be sure they are properly listed as instructor. Students should check to be sure they are properly enrolled in the course.
To report a problem with Telesis including error messages and malfunctions, please send an email to telesis@wustl.edu.
