Change my Keyboard Input Language

Apple OSX

  1. Open the program you wish to use (MS Word, for instance). Select your language from the input menu. (At the top right corner of the screen, marked with a flag.
  2. In some cases, a small palette will appear on the screen with characters to choose from depending on the meaning of the word you have typed. Additional fonts are available in Microsoft Word.
  3. If you want to look at the layout, select “Show keyboard viewer” from the input menu.
  4. The Keyboard Viewer will float over other windows, allowing you to see the layout as you type.

Windows XP

  1. Open the program you wish to use (MS Word, for instance).
  2. Click the Language bar icon in the taskbar to select the language you wish to type in.

Remember that depending on the language you choose, the characters you press on the keyboard may not resemble what you see on the monitor. In the case of languages using non-roman alphabets, the font will change to that needed.
