Setup WUFI-S in Windows Vista

Topics:

1. You will need to download the Meru Wireless Client and save it to your desktop.

2. After the file finishes downloading, double click the icon on your desktop named "SecureW2_TTLS_333."

3. Click the Extract all files button.

4. Select the location of where you want the files to be extracted too. You can click the Browse button to select the location. Then click the Extract button.

5. Open the location where the files were extracted. Run the "SecureW2_TTLS_333.exe" application and accept the default prompts to install the program. Reboot your computer when prompted.

6. Right click on the wireless icon on the taskbar and click "Connect to a network."

7. Select "Set up a connection or network" at the bottom of the window.

8.Click "Manually connect to a wireless network" and press Next.

9. Enter the following information:

  • Network Name = WUFI-S
  • Security Type = WPA-Enterprise
  • Encryption Type = TKIP

Click Next.

10. Click "Change connection settings."

11. Choose the Security tab. Change the network authentication method to "SecureW2 TTLS"

12. Click the Settings button.

13.The SecureW2 Profile window opens. Click the Configure button.

14. Click the Certificates tab. Uncheck the "Verify Server Certificate" checkbox.

15. Click the Authentication tab.

16. In the Select Authentication Method dropdown menu, select PAP.

17. Click the User Accounts tab.

Note: If you leave the Prompt for user credential box checked, then each time you connect to the wireless network, you will need to re-enter your username and password. If you decided to uncheck the Prompt for user credentials checkbox, then follow steps 18 - 20.

18. Enter your Artsci email username in the format: username@artsci (do not enter .wustl.edu).

19. Enter your Artsci email password.

20. Check the box "Use this account to logon computer."

21. Click OK and you will return to the SecureW2 Profile window.

22. Click OK to return to the Properties window. 

22. Click OK in the Properties window.

23. Click close on "Manually Connect to a Wireless Network" window.

24. Right click on the wireless icon on the taskbar and click "Connect to a network."

25. If you are not already connected, select WUFI-S and choose Connect.
