Anti-Virus software is crucial to protecting your computer and preventing the spread of viruses across the Washington University network.

Students:

Norton Anti-Virus is available for free from Student Technology Services with an in-room data connection. You can also purchase anti-virus software at a student discount through the Campus Bookstore.

Faculty and Staff:

Departmental Support provides installation and support for TrendMicro OfficeScan (for Windows) and Symantec Antivirus (for Apple computers). This support is part of the Arts & Sciences Computing Anti-Virus Initiative for Washington University owned faculty & staff departmental desktop computers.

OfficeScan is updated automatically on faculty & staff desktop computers. Laptop users need to purchase Symantec’s Antivirus program through the Software Library on Campus.

Testing for and cleaning of viruses is provided for Washington University owned departmental desktop computers by A&SC. Just contact your Departmental Support Representative to schedule an appointment.
