RCLGA: Race and Children's Literature of the Gilded Age is a project that produces scholarly digital editions of racially significant children's literature from the period between 1865 and 1913. Creating a Federal Government: Creating a Federal Government explores the functional realities of governance during the early American republic by tracking appointments to civil federal positions from the Washington to the Quincy Adams administrations. Other Associated Projects

The HDW supports these projects in collaboration with other campus departments:

  • The Campbell House Culture Mapping project, run by American Culture Studies, in which artifacts from St. Louis' Campbell House Museum will be made available to non-specialist inquiry regarding their cultural significance.
  • The Hurst Digital Archive of recordings "of readings and talks given by prominent poets, fiction writers, essayists, critics, and scholars of literature and language who have visited the University under the auspices of the Hurst Endowment." (Collaborative with the English Department)
  • The The St. Louis Circuit Court Historical Records Project, a wide-ranging and important archive of case files from the St. Louis Circuit Court, dating from 1800. (Collaborative with American Culture Studies and Digital Library Services; see site for list of external collaborators)
