We are excited to announce STL DataFest 2024, an event designed to unite professionals across diverse sectors, including universities, government, businesses, and nonprofits, who share a passion for using data to drive positive societal change. The fusion of expertise and perspectives will create a dynamic environment for exploring innovative approaches to leveraging data for societal improvement.

At the heart of the STL DataFest is a shared commitment to harness the power of data to address real-world challenges. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with like-minded individuals who believe in the transformative potential of data-driven insights. Whether you are a data scientist, researcher, policymaker, or advocate, this event provides a platform to collaborate, share knowledge, and explore the amazing possibilities of data to improve our world.

Location: Emerson Auditorium, Knight Hall – Washington University in St. Louis (Danforth Campus)  
Admission: $30 ($15 for students)

Participation opportunities include:

  1. Short Presentations: We welcome proposals for short presentations on a wide range of topics, including but not limited to: business analytics and innovation, workforce development, environmental justice and disaster preparedness, healthcare analytics, social equity and inclusion, data ethics, and more.
     
  2. Poster Session (for Students and Postdocs): Students and postdocs are encouraged to submit proposals to present posters showcasing their research. This is an excellent opportunity to share your work, network with professionals and potential employers, and receive valuable feedback.
     
  3. Birds of a feather session: Lead a small-group discussion to brainstorm collaboration opportunities with participants across sectors who share a common interest. Help us build a more vibrant and interconnected data science community in the region.
