Computational Engineer and Software Developer

Jessie Walker works with faculty to support impactful, basic science research using the tools and resources of the big data revolution. The specific goal is to support focused interdisciplinary teams targeting the greatest challenges facing St. Louis, the nation, and the world: global migration and environmental change, social media and misinformation, demographic change and aging, structural inequality (economic, racial, geographic, health, and education), and democratic decline

Jessie is a native of Arkansas with 18+ years of experience working with diverse communities in both postsecondary and private sector. This includes extensive experience in conducting both qualitative and quantitative research supported by external funding from national sources such as the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), National Science Foundation (NSF), Department of Defense (DOD); as well as private sector entities such as, Oracle, Dell, Acxiom Corporation, MasterCard, Amazon AWS, IBM, and Sony Corporation, which resulted in $15+ Million in competitive research funding. In addition, Jessie brings a unique set of proficiencies in support of the TRIADS mission.
