Apple OSX

1. Open Microsoft Word. Select the text that's written in another language. On the Tools menu, click Language.
   
2. In the Mark selected text as box, click the language you want to select, and then click OK.
   

When you finish marking the text, check the spelling in the document. When the spell checker encounters the marked text, it uses the specified language dictionary to check the text. Then, the spelling checker returns to the default language dictionary to check the rest of the document.

Windows XP

1. Open Microsoft Word. Go to the Tools menu and choose "Spelling and Grammar".
   
2. Use the drop-down menu "Dictionary Language" to select the language in which you are typing. The spell/grammar check will now work just as it does for English. Select "Change" if the computer's suggestion is what you mean "Ignore" if it is not what you want.
